Blue Jays 8, Red Sox 5
Not much to say about this one other than sometimes the other team’s best is better than your best. Batters 1-2 and 5-9 hit .250/.294/.281 last night for the Blue Jays. Problem was, Vernon Wells and Troy Glaus hit .625/.700/2.500!!
I imagine panic will start to set in around here today, what with David Pauley throwing tonight and all but I don’t see any indication that much has materially changed from the club that polished off a four-game sweep of a competitive Devil Rays squad just three days ago.

1). That Devil Rays team was not competitive. You were there thursday, I was there thursday->Sat, they weren’t competitive in the least. Huff is still weirdly terrible, Cantu’s out, and so you’re down to a team with two good players in Crawford / Gomes.
2). There is something materially different, in that we’re on the road, and we’re horrific on the road. If we win 2 this road trip I’ll be thrilled.
We are so, so, so dead today.

Losing two in a row to Toronto while the Yankees win two in a row versus a surprisingly very good Detroit team has a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, yes….
